"Everybody is doing tax avoidance" Shay, Treasury

“Everybody has been engaging in cross-border tax avoidance
So says Stephen Shay, former international tax affairs treasury secretary. Wal-Mart, Apple, Starbucks, and most of the largest 500 corporations owe US back taxes. Corporate share of U.S. tax receipts has fallen from 30% to under 15% as profits have soared since 1990. The Effective corporate tax rate is less than that for most OECD countries. This is why Greece got into its mess—few pay taxes in Greece.

We are giving up $800,267 by NOT using a simple investment plan
Get what you want with a simple financial plan in 5 steps. IRS §408 trust gives you a TAX-FREE nest egg of $993,413 when you invest $3,000 a year in a stock index for 33 years. Average investors earn just 3.69% when using a sales person and end up with $193,146.

Could Medicare coverage beginning at age 50 help us live healthier longer?
Since 1965, people over age 65 are living longer with far lower rates of death from chronic disease. Medicare has evolved and improved along the way, adding home health services, hospice care and prescription drug coverage, just to name a few innovations. Medicare prevention-oriented resources at this period of greatest risk of disability due to cancer, heart disease and stroke, obesity and diabetes could reduce overall costs.

See why your doctor prescribes that particular medicine not the generic brand
Now you can see what your doctor REALLY makes—not from your insurer. Each script for each drug is worth BIG money. My gastroenterologist gets $91,226 just for writing scripts no matter what the cure. See why our drugs cost so much more than in Europe: https://projects.propublica.org/docdollars/

Medical debt collectors charged with unfair practice
Half of all overdue debt on credit reports stems from unpaid medical bills, and a substantial number of these bills are unpaid as the result of delays in insurance reimbursements, medical billing errors and billing disputes, according to the CFPB. "Don't necessarily trust the bills you receive," LaMontagne added. "Plenty of errors occur and you should make sure the bill is correct before you pay it." Ask for verification of bill to stop collector. Dispute credit report info. Many doctors changed insurers and never notified patients, sticking them with out-of-network charges. Sort of “bait and switch” that can be reported to the regulator: http://www.consumerfinance.gov/complaint/

Was your tax refund too big?
If you had a refund over $500, congratulations, you are giving the government a FREE loan. They will just waste it so give yourself a bonus and raise your allowances on Form W4 http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/fw4.pdf. Give it to your employer so they will take out less each paycheck. Set up your legal Tax Haven at a low-cost Roth IRA trustee like Vanguard with the difference in pay. In one of Vanguard’s Top Ten, you could have a nice tax-FREE fund to buy your next vacation, car, emergency. It is like found money!

Small business credit worth $thousands
The maximum credit increases to 50 percent of premiums paid for small business employers and 35 percent of premiums paid for small tax-exempt employers.  Even if you are a small business employer who did not owe tax during the year, you can carry the credit back or forward to other tax years. Also, since the amount of the health insurance premium payments is more than the total credit, eligible small businesses can still claim a business expense deduction for the premiums in excess of the credit. That’s both a credit and a deduction for employee premium payments.

GOP crazies
Cruz wants a popular vote for each Supreme—overturn Constitution
Cruz said he is proposing a constitutional amendment to require Supreme Court justices to face retention elections every eight years. "The decisions that have deformed our constitutional order and have debased our culture are but symptoms of the disease of liberal judicial activism that has infected our judiciary," Cruz writes. "A remedy is needed that will restore health to the sick man in our constitutional system. Rendering the justices directly accountable to the people would provide such a remedy."

Trump calls Mexicans rapists & drug dealers. No GOP leader has denounced Trump so they must agree. Fox defends Trump remarks! (Germany in the 1930s?) Trump has sent many minorities out of the GOP camp with his announcement. NBC fires Trump.
Trump claims he was cheated by two Mexican businessmen in 2006-7 and he’s still angry: I will make Mexico pay for border wall. Conservatives cheer racism! Klan makes rally for July 18.

Christie cannonballed the GOP pool of contenders
NJ voters (4% approval) explain what he’s really like: http://www.gq.com/news-politics/201506/the-chris-christie-story    Local paper calls him a LIAR, with intent to deceive. May join Trump to “set Russia and China straight.”

Huck rejects Supreme’s decisions—Civil war again?
I will not acquiesce to an imperial court any more than our Founders acquiesced to an imperial British monarch. We must resist and reject judicial tyranny, not retreat. He wants to go back to white Christian rules of the 1950s.

GOP religion rules in TX, KY, TN—“pick the laws you want to follow”
TX told clerks that if they refuse to issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples or perform weddings because they conflict with their “religious” beliefs TX will help them fight their case if they face lawsuits. KY clerks cite religion to refuse licenses.
"No Gays Allowed" sign at his hardware store in TN because owner says "I don't want them around because their lifestyle.”  Owner says he is a “follower” of Christ who said, “love thy neighbor as thyself” and “I was a stranger and you did not invite me in, I needed clothes and you did not clothe me, I was sick and in prison and you did not look after me.”

GOPs return racists’ money but only after they are caught
GOP candidates Cruz, Walker, Santorum, Paul got funds from the new “white citizens council” and didn’t have a problem until the killer Roof’s rant out-ed them. The council’s influence runs deep in the GOP with Lott, Barbour, Huckabee, and recently, SC Gov. Nikki Haley. Southern “hospitality” lives! Money buys you influence. Flag still flies! Klan to rally support for flag of rebellion in July. Will Cruz Trump show up?

Walker defies GOP and regulates manufacturing—Regulation is bad to GOP?
Walker signed a bill into law that bans the manufacturing and sale of personal care products containing tiny plastic beads that are known to pollute waterways.

GOP-led Supremes have become substitute for democratic decision-making
The Supreme Court ruled NO to Obama’s EPA rule on limiting emissions of mercury and other hazardous air pollutants mainly from coal-fired power plants, a setback for the government and a boost to GOP and coal stocks. Supemes know nothing about mercury!
Scalia condemns his own decisions as a Supreme ELITIST: “to allow the policy question to be considered and resolved by a select, patrician, highly unrepresentative panel of nine is to violate a principle even more fundamental than no taxation without representation: no social transformation without representation.” He is right! Why did he and Kennedy give Bush II the presidency in 2000 election when Constitution says voters decide? Cost us 5,000 lives and $4 Trillion so far.
Roberts condemns making public policy also: "Just who do we think we are?" “… that decision should rest with the people acting through their elected representatives, …”

GOP predictions of the end times—Ryan still wrong
NRA calls itself a civil rights group like NAACP and ACLU. Really?

DEM crazies
Bernie has crowds but does not have a PAC. Without the support of a “super PAC,” his total seems small, but anywhere close to $10 million would be a very respectable total for a candidate who raised a total of $6.2 million for his 2012 Senate race. Elizabeth Warren isn't ruling out joining ultra-liberal Democratic presidential candidate Bernie Sanders on the campaign trail in New Hampshire. One question is whether this initial flood of donations represents the high-water mark or can be sustained.
Bernie can’t win—it took Obama $730 million to win in 2008.

Obama to give workers overtime like in 1975—but don’t count GOP out yet
The administration has the power to issue the regulation, which would restore the overtime salary threshold to roughly where it stood in 1975 in terms of purchasing power, without congressional approval. Republicans could, for example, attach a so-called rider undoing the change to must-pass appropriations measures later this year.

Avoid cars that lose value before they are paid for
You will not be surprised that these money pits are overpriced but some people buy them. Some are also on the list of the highest problems per 100 sold too.

Third Man reopened in CA 7/3: Wells told director Carol Reed, "Carol, I can't work in a sewer, I come from California." So all the Vienna sewer scenes were done at Shepperton Studios. However, tourists, making "Third Man" tours of Vienna, have made its sewers quite popular. Closing shot: Sight & Sound magazine called a candidate for the greatest film finale ever.

CR says new BMW, Audi, Subaru burn oil
Consumer Reports focused on 2010 to 2014 models and called on automakers to make repairs under the powertrain warranty or to extend warranties. Audi and BMW cars say that it's reasonable to burn a quart of oil every 600 to 700 miles. For a late-model car to burn a quart or more between changes is not acceptable, Rechtin said. Check models: http://finance.yahoo.com/news/consumer-reports-finds-newer-cars-101209204.html

SCAMS           Can we afford to keep paying $700 Billion a year for WWII deployments? That is 27 cents of each dollar in taxes—the largest part of our money—and we aren’t even at war. We could pay off our debts and fix our schools, roads and bridges! We are paying for 164,253 of our active-duty armed personnel to be in 150 countries around the world. We have about 50,000 in Japan and 50,000 in Germany.
We are spending $8 million per HOUR on our wars in Iraq/Afgan
The War on Terror requires special forces attacks on top terrorists at their homes like Obama’s al-Amr May14 Abu killIraq proved converting a nation to Western-style republic doesn’t work. The troops we trained ran away, left our stuff. Training and more stuff for what? Former Saddam army now ISIS. We are wasting $4 billion a year on Afgan tribal rivalries; paying ransom to Al Qaeda; supporting corruption with our money.
We are building another military base for Japan at Henoko. Air Force Gen. Ronald Fogelman admitted that the Marines “serve no military function there. They don’t need to be in Okinawa to meet any time line in any war plan.”
Are we preparing for WWII again? There are 1,208,083[1] armed personnel in the United States. Our taxes pay for about HALF of the WORLD’s military expenditures every year. We have wasted $398.6 billion so far on the F-35 program—they can’t fly safely.
We just can’t afford to pay for everyone else’s defenses anymore.
Japan, Germany and S. Korea can pay to defend themselves.
GM murdered 114 people but not even indicted
The official death toll from faulty ignition switches in General Motors small cars has risen to 114. GM has made “compensation” offers to 245 other victims’ families. NO ONE is going to jail despite the cover up!

“Imported” beer is really imported from St Louis where they make hype!

Whole foods costs whole lot more … because they admit cheat a whole lot.

Malcolm Segal, a Langhorne, Pa., Aegis broker was sued by the SEC for taking $15.5 million from 50 investors and using the money to buy a Florida condominium, vacations and other luxuries. Segal sold certificates of deposit to brokerage customers, claiming he could get up to 12 percent interest, according to the SEC.
BNP Paribas was accused of breaching fiduciary, contractual and legal duties, as well as gross negligence and negligent supervision,
